90-year-old Albion resident, Delbert Bunnage passed away early Thursday morning, March 26 at Oakview Nursing & Rehabilitation in Mt. Carmel.
Delbert was born Jan. 20, 1930 in Ellery. He was born to Clayton and Pearl (Holt) Bunnage. He was first married to Joan Bruce on Dec. 19, 1953 until her death in 1978. On Feb. 23, 1979 he married Mary Louise Headlee in Albion and she survives. Delbert had worked for Stewart’s Grocery Store in Albion for over 40 years. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp serving in the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion.
Delbert is survived by his wife Mary Louise, two daughters, Debbie (John) Garrett of Douglasville, Ga. and Shirley (Tom) Walters of Fairfield; three grandsons, Kip (Lori) Walters of Owensboro, Ky., Kirk (Lacy) Walters of Olney and Kyle (Libby) Garrett of Cumming, Ga.; four great grandchildren, Rylyn, Irelan, and Anna Quinn Walters and Bryson Garrett; one brother, Hubert (Dixie) Bunnage of Albion. Preceding Delbert in death was his first wife, Joan, an infant daughter, LaDonna and his parents.
Graveside services for Delbert Bunnage will be Monday, March 30 at 10:30 a.m. at Graceland Cemetery in Albion with military rites provided by American Legion Post 590 and VFW Post 8222. There will be no visitation. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.nalesfuneralhome.com. Nale’s Funeral Home of Albion is in charge of the arrangements.
