Marilyn A. Hawkins, 85, of Grayville, Ill., died Monday, Jan. 11 at Meadowood Nursing and Rehabilitation in Grayville. She was born Oct. 19, 1935, in White County, Ill., the daughter of Theodore and Ada (Stuart) Duvall. She was married to Clarence Edward Hawkins and he preceded her in death on Oct. 10, 1994.
Marilyn worked for Spartan Manufacturing in Grayville until Spartan shut down. She also worked for the Grayville Ambulance Service for over 29 years and served part of that time as dispatcher and director. Memberships include Northside Baptist Church in Grayville, Georgia General Baptist Church in Carmi, Ill. and The Eastern Star.
Survivors include sons Terry (Anita) Hawkins of Grayville, Doug Duvall of Loogootee, Ind.; daughter Lisa (Jeff) Kleinschmidt of Evansville, Ind.; brother David (Janet) Duvall of Carmi; sister Wanda Buttry of Carmi; grandchildren Eric (Melissa) Kleinschmidt, Zak (Jamie) Kleinschmidt, Steven (Courtnay) Duvall, Adriana Duvall, Michael (Brooklyn) Duvall, Ciara (Adam) Niehaus, Whitney (Tyler) Howell; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sisters Joyce Embry and Vonda Bingman.
Visitation is 10am to noon, Saturday, Jan. 16 at Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville. Burial is in Oak Grove Cemetery in Grayville.
Memorials may be made to the White County Ambulance Service and will be accepted at Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville.
