Melba Maxine Levingston, 94, of Grayville, died Friday, Sept. 4 at her home. She was born June 4, 1926 in Gibson County, Ind., the daughter of Alvin Buttery and Hallie (Poole) Buttery. She was married to Floyd McClain “Mac” Levingston and he preceded her in death on Nov. 23, 1997.
Maxine was a homemaker and previously worked for both Spartan Manufacturing and Champion Laboratories. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, her pet cats and dogs and sightseeing.
Survivors include sons, Alan (Cindy) Levingston of Howell, Mich., Tony (Susan) Levingston of Grayville; grandchildren, Chelsa Ashley, Ashley McCuan and Jody Levingston; great-grandchildren Trystan Meritt, Keegan Meritt, Shaylan Meritt, Zander McCuan and Kya McCuan.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband and two sisters, Helen and Frieda.
In keeping with Maxine’s wishes, her remains were cremated. There will be no services. Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville is in charge of arrangements.
