Sammie Lee Marler 73, of Brunswick, GA
Sammie Lee Marler 73, of Brunswick, GA and formerly of Youngsville, NY died on Tuesday March 16, 2021 at the Southeast Georgia Health Systems Hospital.
The son of the late Paul E. Marler and Nevalene Ward Marler was born on December 11, 1947 in Princeton, Indiana.
He was a retired Drug and Alcohol Counselor for Gateway Behavioral Services in Brunswick, GA. He also served his country as a Combat Medic with the US Army.
Sammie Lee was known as the following and in this order, friend, husband, dad, grandpa, ball buster, BS’er, joker, story teller, song writer and poet.
He was predeceased by his parents and three bothers Bob, Charlie and Harold Marler. He was also predeceased by The Love of His Life Virginia (Ginger) Colapinto Marler of over 23 years of marriage. Survivors include one sister Nancy Marler Pritchett of Pilot Knob, MO, three sons Christopher (Lori) Marler of Brunswick, GA, Harold (Amy) Marler of Smithfield, VA, Sammie Marler Jr. of Delaware OH and four grandchildren Christopher, Jenna, Tyler and Mackenzie as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and family.
He grew up in Grayville, IL then he moved to Cardington, OH as a teen. After serving his country he resided in Enfield, IL for years. He then moved to Delaware, OH until moving to Liberty, NY with his wife Ginger until they retired happily in Brunswick, GA.
His family would like to thank Heartland Hospice of Brunswick, GA for their tremendous care and support for Sammie Lee during these last months.
Due to Covid -19 the family will do a private service at a later date.
