Charles Leroy Speir, 72, of Albion

Charles Leroy Speir, age 72 of Albion, passed away Tuesday, March 23 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Ind.
Leroy was born in Albion on April 1, 1948 to Claudie Earl and Sara (Tetrick) Speir. Leroy married Martha Howe on Sept. 3, 1966 in Albion and they enjoyed over 50 years together before her passing on Feb. 27, 2020. Leroy was an oil producer, having owned and operated Speir Operating in Albion for several years. He was a member of the Hermitage Masonic Lodge 356 in Albion and a member of the Ainad Shriners.
Left to cherish many wonderful memories are two sons, Robert Randal Speir and Michael David (Kristen) Speir; two daughters, Susan Leann (Duane) Lear and Audra Marie (Rick) Hubble, all of Albion; two brothers, Neil Speir of Albion and Howard (Janette) Speir of Pegram, Tenn.; five sisters, Mary West, Norma (Dave) Buckles, Nancy (Greg) Nelson and Marilyn Longbons, all of Albion, and Anita (John) Downer of Princeton, Ind.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Leroy was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Martha; brothers, Fred and Lawrence and sisters, Martha Johnson and Marjorie Longbons.
Private family services will be held with burial at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Hermitage Masonic Lodge 356 and will be accepted at Nale’s Funeral Home in Albion, which is in charge of the arrangements.
