As has quickly become tradition, the Grayville and Norris City Volleyball teams once again pushed each other to their respective limits.

This time in the postseason.

The Bison and Cardinals did battle in the opening round of the Crab Orchard Sectional Monday evening, with Norris City getting the best of the GHS girls after three sets of action. Grayville dropped the match to NCOE; 11–25, 25–21, 22–25.

“It was a very good match to watch, and the girls fought hard until the very last point after being neck and neck with NCOE the entire third match,” said Alyssa Schroeder, GHS Head Volleyball Coach.

Freshman Kylee Hosman paced the Bison at the net with seven kills, three aces, three digs and an assist. Sidney Foster netted 13 assists, nine digs, six kills and two aces, while Kami Johnson put up 12 assists, four kills and three digs.

Kiki Robinson added eight digs and two assists, with Macy Knight making good on six kills, three digs, an ace and a block.

Sarah Albano mustered six kills, six digs, an ace and a block, while Alyvia Rahmoeller netted three kills, one dig and one block in the loss.

For Norris City, Emilee Bishop topped the Cardinals with 15 kills, five points, four digs and two blocks.

Evie Duncan managed 12 kills, eight digs and one point. Abby Black was the top points-getter with 13, also accumulating 13 digs. Tori Kames netted 10 points and two assists.

Hollan Everett recorded two blocks and a kill, while Kennedy Cook netted six kills. Sophie Neal managed seven points,  six assists, five digs, three kills and two blocks and an ace.

Matie Wells finished the night with 27 assists and two points.
