Mason S. Miser, 85, of Grayville, died Saturday, Jan. 2 at Kingsbrook Lifecare Center in Ashland, Ky. He was born Nov. 11, 1935, in Poseyville, Ind., the son of William Isaac Miser and Lela Mae (Spicer) Miser. He was married to Marjorie A. (Frankland) Miser and she preceded him in death on March 26, 2017.
Mason was a member of the First Christian Church in Grayville. He worked many years as a truck driver in the Illinois Oil Basin.
Survivors include daughter Marcia (John) Meritt of Flatwoods, Ky.; grandchildren, Shane Willett, Misty Taylor and Christina Watkins; great-grandchildren, Lexus Willett, Kiaya Willett, Amiyah Willett, Taylor Waller, Shelbie Watkins, Austin Watkins and Bailey Waller and great-great-grandchildren Kinsley, Koby, Kannon, Addisyn and Adeline. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Marlena Sue Walkenbach; brother, Harold Norman Miser and sisters, Jewell Hodgson and Maxine Bailey. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a celebration of Mason’s life will be at a later date.
His remains were buried alongside his wife, “Margie” in Oak Grove Cemetery in Grayville. Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville is in charge of arrangements
