Wayne Rudisill, 79, of Grayville, Ill., died Thursday, Dec. 10 at his home. He was born July 26, 1941, in Rockport, Ind., the son of Jesse and Lillian (Weller) Rudisill. He was married to Lora Mae (Hatcher) Rudisill, and she survives.
Wayne was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Grayville. He worked for Eastwood Sand and Gravel as “Towboat Captain” for 23 years. After they shut down, he worked at Champion Laboratories until his retirement in 2003. When not working, Wayne was in the woods. He loved to hunt and fish, and enjoyed it even more when his grandson, Travis, joined him. He also loved family get-togethers.
Survivors include his wife, Lora Mae Rudisill of Grayville; sons Tim (Kim) Rudisill of Grayville, Terry (Vickie) Rudisill of Newton, N.C.; brother Jerry Rudisill of Knox, Ind.; grandchildren Travis (Lynsey), Ashley, Trevor (Kathryn), Lance (Angela) and Alyssa; and great-grandchildren Cashton, Wyatt and Emmett.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Elmo, Robert, Jesse, and Dean Rudisill; sisters Genive Owen, Verna Robbins, Betty Landingham, Emily Wilson and Carol Hedrick.
Visitation and funeral are Sunday, Dec. 13 at Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville. Visitation is at noon and funeral is at 1:30 p.m. Burial is in Oak Grove Cemetery in Grayville.
Memorials may be made to Northside Baptist Church and will be accepted at Cook Funeral Chapel.
COVID-19 precautions (masks) will be in force for the visitation and funeral.
