Herschel D. Root, 86, of Bone Gap
Herschel D. Root, age 86 of Bone Gap passed from this life to the next on May 30 at Rest Haven Manor in Albion.
Herschel was born on July 19, 1933 in Bone Gap to George and Mary (Copley) Root.
He married Patsy Fitzgerrell on Aug. 29, 1953 in Wabash County.
Herschell was a welder and was employed by Pacific Press and Shear for many years.
He enjoyed fishing and loved storytelling!
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, George Edward Root.
He is survived by his daughter, LaDonna Iles; son, Greg (Linda) Root; sister, Fran (Michael) Koertge, brothers, Jim (Barbara) Root, Kenny Root and Marc Root; three grandchildren, Micki Hallam, Sam Root and Brandy Iles and 3 great-grandchildren, Alicia, Justin and Amaria.
A private family service will be held at a later date with interment in the Bone Gap Cemetery.
Memorials are encouraged to the Bone Gap Cemetery Fund or the Edwards County Senior Citizens.
