Donald L. McClane, 86, of Mount Carmel
Donald L. McClane, 86, of Mount Carmel passed away Wednesday, July 1 at home with his family by his side. He was born on May 9, 1934 in Mount Carmel, the son of Charles and Sybil (Hill) McClane. He married Joyce Carpenter on Nov. 22, 1952, and she survives.
Don worked many years in the oilfield industry. He worked for H&H Oil Company and for Andy Hocking, tending to his wells. He was a hard worker and loved his oilfield jobs. Don also was employed by Snap On Tool Corporation for nineteen years. Don and Joyce worked side by side for a number of years when they owned a feed and farm supply store. Don loved his family. He was a member of Saint Mary Catholic Church. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Don will be remembered by his loving wife of sixty-seven years, Joyce; son, Mark McClane; daughter, Ladonna Blevins and her husband, Don; several loved grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Carolyn Brown, Anna Bell Lovellette and Marie Hedrick and two brothers, Ed and John McClane.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Chris McClane; one sister, Wilma and three brothers, Michael, Ray and Tom McClane.
In keeping with Don’s wishes, cremation will take place and no formal services are planned.
