Doris “Dot” Jean (Lynn) Spreder, born Jan. 12.1940 in Albion, passed away at her home in Ramona, Calif. of complications of COPD on April 24. She was 80 years old.
Doris grew up in Albion and played a big role in raising her brothers and sisters. Frequent trips back home over the years helped maintain a close connection to many friends and family there. Anyone who knew her knew that family was her number one priority, in particular, feeding family. She was the greatest cook ever, inspiring a whole generation with her southern recipes and techniques. Her hobbies included seeking treasure at thrift shops, maintaining a fantastical style of dress and reading, especially cookbooks and history. Her greatest joy in life was her family; Doris was truly the apotheosis of unconditional love. Once a part of her family, always family.
Doris left her life peacefully surrounded by her beloved family with her little dog asleep at the foot of her bed. She is survived by daughter, Cindy Reid of Ramona, Calif.; son Siegert Lynn Reid and wife Glenda, of Escondido, Calif.; son, John Spreder and wife Claudia, of Hemet, Calif.; son Samuel Spreder of Escondido, Calif.; sister Shirley (Lynn) Good of Cabot, AK. She was ‘Agent Fireball’ to the many grandchildren who make up her legacy and ‘Master Grandma’ to her great-grandchildren. Carmen and Ahna, mothers to her grandchildren, remained close friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother Roberta (Keener) Easley; brother William (Bill) Lynn; brother Ronald Lynn; brother Robert Lynn; brother Kenneth Lynn and sister Sue (Lynn) Duncan.
In light of the current pandemic, memorial services will be delayed to a later time. Donations to her favorite local charity, Ramona Food and Clothes Closet, 773 Main Street, Ramona, Calif. 92065 are appreciated.
