The Albion Grade School Baseballers jumped to an early 1–0 lead over Hamilton County Thursday afternoon and never looked back.
The Lions snowballed that early advantage over the course of the final three innings of play, scoring three, five and four runs, respectively. By the time the dust settled, the AGS boys had claimed a 13–3 win over the Foxes of Hamilton County.
Jax Duncan started the game for Albion, pitching there and two-third innings. Duncan allowed three unearned runs from two hits and two walks, striking out seven. Jex Schnepper closed out the final one and one-third frames, striking out three Hamilton County batters while giving up just two hits.
Jaron Weaver guided the AGS offense to victory, finishing the game 3–4 at the plate, with six RBIs, two doubles and a stolen base. Dylan Prather managed two RBIs and a double, while Drew Seibert netted three steals and an RBI.
Wyatt Collins claimed an RBI in the win as well.
Duncan and Schnepper each did some damage along the base paths, in addition to their pitching success. Schnepper stole two bases, while Duncan stole one base. Cash Conner had a pair of steals as well.
