72-year-old Albion resident, Martha Howe Speir passed away Thursday evening, Feb. 27 at her residence.
Martha was born Aug. 7, 1947 in Princeton, Ind. to Robert and Audrey (Thomas) Howe. She married Charles Leroy Speir on Sept. 3, 1966 in Albion and he survives. Martha started working at Citizens National Bank right out of high school, and after over 43 years of dedicated service she retired as a Vice President. She was a member of the Little Prairie Christian Church, the DAR, and the Colonial Dames.
Martha is survived by her husband, Leroy; two sons, Robert Randal Speir and Michael (Kristen) Speir; two daughters, Susan Leann (Duane) Lear and Audra Marie (Rick) Hubble all of Albion; one brother, Richard Stanley (Andrea) Howe of Princeton, Ind.; one sister, Barbara (Harvey) McCants of Kingsport, Tenn.; Nine grandchildren, Nykolas (Jessica) Lear, Mitchell (Ashley Gillard) Lear, Seth (Jordan McWhirter) Root, Sydney (Andrew) Thomson, Quentin (Kate) Speir, Jayden Speir, Samuel Speir, Carlos Speir and McKinzie Brake; three great grandchildren with two on the way along with several nieces and nephews also survive. Preceding Martha in death were her parents.
Per Martha’s wishes, cremation will be afforded and no services are to be held. Online condolences can be left for the family at www.nalesfuneralhome.com. Nale’s Funeral Home of Albion is assisting the family.
