93-year old Albion resident, Mona June Stennett passed away Friday morning, June 19 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. June was born June 17, 1927 in Edwards County. The daughter of Ira and Gertrude (Lindsey) Coleman. She married Bernard Stennett on July 24, 1945 in Albion, and he survives.
June was a homemaker and a faithful member of the Samaria Missionary Baptist Church northwest of Albion. She enjoyed cooking and doting on her precious grandchildren.
June is survived by her husband, Bernard; one son, Jeff Stennett of Springfield and one daughter, Nancy (Gary) Etheridge of Albion; one sister, Esther Presson of Albion; three grandchildren, Lance (Stephanie) Etheridge of Kissee Mills, Mo., Les Etheridge and Kevin Etheridge, both of Albion; four great-grandchildren, Tylor, Sydnee, Kaleb and Keegan Etheridge and several nieces and nephews. Preceding June in death were her parents, two brothers, Alvin and Bob Coleman and two sisters, Eva Lambert and Veda Scott.
Graveside services for June Stennett were held Monday, June 22 at Samaria Cemetery northwest of Albion. Memorials can be directed to the Edwards County Senior Citizens or to Samaria Cemetery Fund and will be accepted at Nale’s Funeral Home in Albion.
