It took just two matches for the Lady Lions of Edwards County to dispense of Cisne and reach a Regional Championship match for the 14th consecutive season.
The ECHS girls made short work of the Runnin’ Lions in the Woodlawn Regional, taking down the Wayne County school; 25–17, 25–12.
Senior Caelyn Nelson recorded 20 digs, an ace and an assist for Edwards County, while junior Meredith Gillard produced a team-high seven kills to compliment her five digs and four aces. Fellow third-year player Alli Goering also registered four aces in the victory.
Audrey Rotramel made four kills on the night, with fellow senior Darcy Clodfelter netting seven assists, four digs, one kill and one ace. Amaya Lashbrook also accounted for seven assists and an ace.
Rachel Perkins managed eight digs and two aces, while Lexie Hill had three digs and a kill. Hannah Taylor and Ellie Marks each accounted for a kill and a dig.
Ava Greathouse recorded three digs in the win.
